This year, the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha and the sisters of Alpha Phi held the 4th annual Strike out Strokes event at Uncle Sam Lanes in Troy, NY. The event was a success and 11 teams participated in the bowling, competing for Ben & Jerry's gift cards. In the end almost $500 was raised for the American Stroke Association. RPI's Ski Lodge (Phi Kappa Theta) won the team prize and one of our own, Matthew Clopeck '17, won the individual prize. Thanks to everyone who came out to the event and supported the American Stroke Association!

RPI Curling Wins the Yale Super Spiel

This past weekend brothers Zach Wietsma '17 and Joseph Skulski '17 competed in the Yale Super Spiel along with the rest of RPI's Curling team. The team won their first event versus Yale and finished the weekend 4-0 as the winners of the A event. Joseph and Zach joined the the team in the fall of their freshman year ('13) and have been to the curling nationals every year since. Last year the team placed first in goal merit points.

Relay for Life Fundraising

Every year Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute hosts a Relay for Life walk in the Armory. Lambda Chi Alpha has been a part of this relay for many years and hosts various events throughout the semester to raise money for the American Cancer Society. This year the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha have planned on bringing back many of those past events. Our weekly event to help raise money is called "Lambda Cocoa" where free hot chocolate is given out to students in return for donations to our relay for life total.  In addition to this, the brothers plan to bring back the very successful "Fat Sandwiches" philanthropy event from the Spring 2016 semester. This event raised over $1000 for cancer research in a short 2 hours. Two separate dates are being planned for this event with an increased supply of food and more volunteers to help raise money. In addition to these events, brothers will be canning outside stores, raising money on their own, and a host of other things in order to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Help us reach our Goal of $6000 this year by donating below!

Passing of Bill Worthen '94

It is with great sadness that we inform you that William Worthen '94, EH 879, passed away unexpectedly on January 28. As an undergraduate architecture student here at Rensselaer, Bill served as the chapter's High Alpha, spent a year on the Lambda Chi Alpha International Student Advisory Committee, and, as a graduating senior, worked with the Kearns Group of Troy as the project architect of our current chapter house. We owe him many thanks for his dedication and service to this chapter. He will be greatly missed, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Officer of the Week

Meet our officer of the week @suk_the_nuke. Suk, our VP and Philanthropy Chair won officer of the week for being asked to serve on the board for the Hope 7 community center. He volunteers weekly at the Hope 7 pantry, tutors at the Hope 7 community center in addition to helping run a robotics program at night.

Here's a link to Hope 7 to see how you can get involved with the many things they have to offer: https://www.hopeseven.com/

Bonni Lettered!

We would like to thank Bonni for being a huge part of our fraternity and to congratulate her for receiving her own letters. Day in and out, she works hard to prepare food for the entire chapter- which is no easy task. But Bonni is more than just our chef, she knows the brotherhood exceptionally well from our favorite party games to the lack of sleep we get at night. Thanks for making Lambda Chi feel like home.
